My Quest Experience

Markus Skurowski went on a Quest experience from Germany to the USA.

Why did I apply for a Quest

I applied for a Quest to better understand how global IT processes are applied in the U.S.A.; to identify any differences between the U.S.A. and EMEUK and to use that knowledge and apply it back in EMEUK. I would like to help unifying our way of working and to increase IT efficiency and effectiveness. I would like to smoothen the transition from a local IT to a global one with the ultimate goal of enhancing customer experience when using IT services.

Highlight of my Quest experience

So many highlights and so little space to name them! One highlight was the opportunity to meet with the IT directors and managers and to learn about their challenges and successes. Having a hot dog at a Rockies Baseball game and standing on the summit of Mount Evans was a wonderful experience as well!

Learnings and experiences I will apply to my day to day work

The Quest was very helpful in exchanging ideas and experiences with USA IT staff regarding IT processes and the standards and goals we are working towards.

This experience will definitely help me and the EMEUK IT support team to fill gaps in global processes and to improve the way they are applied.

In addition, meeting in person strengthened our team bonds and will make future communication and collaboration easier and more worthwhile.
