Blog – Making strong connections in the London

30 Junho 2017

Quest is an international transfer program which connects Arcadians from all over the world. Quest is sponsored by the Lovinklaan Foundation. Every week we are highlighting one of the stories our employees who went on an exchange. In this blogpost we cover the Quest story of Meg Lesniak who traveled from Highland Ranch (USA) to London (UK).

Why did I apply for a Quest

We are becoming an increasingly global organization, and have come a long way as it relates to global collaboration amongst enabling functions. I applied for a Quest in order to further that collaboration, with the hope of building valuable relationships and identifying best practices. We made strong connections with our peers and built relationships that will support ongoing collaboration.

Highlight of my Quest experience

Along with discussions around best practices and approach to daily operations, during the Quest exchange we had the opportunity to learn about the UK its journey toward the ‘Arcadis Way’ of working. Insights into their approach, and lessons learned will be invaluable as we undertake our own ‘Arcadis Way’ journey in the USA as well. Those gained insights form the highlight of my Quest experience.

My Quest in one word

“In one word, I would refer to the Quest experience as ‘connection’.”

Learnings and experiences

I learned just how much we have in common, and how much we can benefit from ongoing collaboration with our teammates in other regions. For other Quest participants, I would recommend developing a list of objectives to maximize your experience, but at the same time be willing to go with the flow and adjust your plan as new and unforeseen opportunities for learning arise.
