Board Meeting Wrap-up | March 2025

In March, the Lovinklaan Foundation Board met in Atlanta, Georgia, for the first in-person meeting of the year. This visit marked a powerful opportunity for us to reconnect with Arcadians, deepen our understanding of local business challenges, and strengthen alignment between Lovinklaan and Arcadis leadership.

Here are some of the key highlights from the meeting:

We revisited our overarching strategy and reviewed both existing and proposed programs, taking a closer look at their alignment with Arcadis’ strategic priorities. The discussion also included a financial update to ensure ongoing transparency and effective stewardship of our investments.

We reflected on our Sustain Abilities program, a successful example of our incubation model. Originally launched through Lovinklaan, this initiative has now been fully integrated into Arcadis, showcasing how we help accelerate ideas that drive long-term impact.

We were pleased to meet with Mark Cowlard, Arcadis’ Chief People Officer, to explore ways to further embed Lovinklaan’s programs into Arcadis’ strategic framework. Our conversation centered on enhancing high-impact initiatives that support both the business and Arcadians.

We had an energizing conversation with Rubiena Duarte, Arcadis’ new Global DEIB Director. Together, we explored opportunities to align Lovinklaan’s DEIB agenda with the global DEIB strategy, and to create pathways for greater inclusion and representation across our initiatives.

We also engaged with local leaders across all three GBAs to better understand the current landscape of the ANA business. These exchanges provided a “temperature check” on key trends, regional priorities, and emerging challenges.

A highlight of the trip was a hybrid town hall session, where we connected directly with Arcadians on the ground. These dialogues offered valuable insights and brought Lovinklaan even closer to the everyday experiences and aspirations of Arcadians.

We also took time to reflect on our internal practices—sharing lessons learned, identifying areas for improvement, and strengthening our program governance model to enhance delivery and impact.

Our time in Atlanta was both inspiring and energizing. We remain committed to our mission: empowering Arcadians and ensuring the continuity of Arcadis.

Thank you to all Arcadians who contributed to this inspiring gathering – we have an exciting year ahead!
