Lovinklaan Board Update 2025

As we step into 2025, the Lovinklaan Foundation begins a new chapter with leadership transitions and exciting new opportunities. The start of a new year is always a good moment to reflect on our impact celebrate our progress, and embrace the changes that lie ahead—all while reaffirming our commitment to Arcadians and our shared mission.

Leadership changes are a natural part of our journey, and they symbolize not just change but continuity—a passing of the baton that ensures the Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to support Arcadis and Arcadians for generations to come.

For over 42 years, the Lovinklaan Foundation has been guided by a dedicated Board, working together to uphold our mission and values. The transition from Nora Taylor as Chair to Zakiya Seymour in 2025 represents more than a change in leadership—it highlights the strength of our institutional knowledge and the shared commitment of the entire Board. Each member, whether focused on managing shareholder responsibilities or leading impactful programs, plays a critical role in advancing our goals.

As a major shareholder in Arcadis, the purpose of the Lovinklaan Foundation transcends individual roles. Our Chair takes on the critical task of balancing stakeholder engagement, ensuring the Foundation’s stability and long-term focus. This strategic responsibility is supported by a cohesive Board where each member owns key programs and contributes to the Board’s collective decision making. Together, this structure ensures continuity and consistency in how we lead and operate.

Our role also involves acting as an incubator — nurturing programs until they are ready to be passed on to Arcadis or retired. Over the years, we have celebrated the transition of programs like Roots of Arcadis, Shelter and Expedition DNA, to name a few. This legacy of incubation reflects our deep partnership with Arcadis and our shared vision for driving meaningful change.

Looking ahead, we will continue to respond to the evolving needs of Arcadians. Programs like Skills Powered Organization have shown us the critical skills required for the future, and provided valuable insights into how we can better empower Arcadians.

As Zakiya steps into the role of Chair, supported by Sophie Plantinga as Secretary and Marc Kefford as Treasurer, the Foundation’s mission remains firmly grounded in its purpose. Nora Taylor will continue to serve as a board memberfor another year, ensuring a seamless transition and continuity of leadership. The collective strength of the Board is a testament to the enduring spirit of Lovinklaan: one of collaboration, innovation, and unwavering dedication to Arcadians.

While leadership transitions bring change, they also reaffirm our commitment to our core mission. Lovinklaan exists to ensure Arcadis remains focused on long-term goals. With fresh leadership and a steadfast purpose, we look forward to the next chapter — one where every Arcadian feels included, empowered, and inspired to contribute to our shared success.
