E is for Expectation

Schermafbeelding 2015-10-03 om 23.40.04We have arrived in the Netherlands! Everyone is buzzing and expectations are high. Firstly, some introductions from today’s blogging team: James Grieve (UK), Luke Dimond (India), Zenas Walelo (North America) and Daniel Tabatabai (Hong Kong).

The Global Shapers theme of 2015 is #Engage so this formed the basis of our blog, 6 sessions, 6 letters in engage, so each letter represents a different topic.

We went to the 4 other work flows to pose a few questions to them around our first letter E and the topic of ‘expectation’. We spoke to Kate Francis (Passion Movement), Mauricio Viotti Cavalin (The GS Show), Stephanie Tong (#Engage Our Talent) & Brian Lindberg (Arcadis Connector).

Here’s what we found out:

Q: How do you expect Global Shapers to affect the way you work after the program?

A: We are going to influence our senior leaders in a different way, as much as they influence us.

Q: From the first hours work, how is your work flow progressing?

A: It’s coming along! We are all trying to get involved, which is a challenge with all the different personalities but we are confident we will achieve a tangible outcome.

Q: What’s been the biggest surprise so far?

A: I like how loud the music was.

An array of interesting responses (especially Brian’s!), but overall, the excitement is palpable and everybody is looking forward to the week ahead with anticipation. Going off on a geographical tangent, tomorrow’s topic fits with the location of the face to face meeting this year: The Netherlands! What do GS 2015 participants think of the location this year? Find out tomorrow.
