Exploring the foundations of the SEm process in Amersfoort

08 septembre 2017

Quest is an international transfer program which connects Arcadians from all over the world. Quest is sponsored by the Lovinklaan Foundation. Every week we are highlighting one of the stories our employees who went on an exchange. In this blogpost we cover the Quest story of Miguel Hijano who traveled from London, UK to the Netherlands.

Why did I apply for a Quest

Over the past few years I always believed that information should be treated in a more structured way than it was. Working on one project gave me the opportunity to get to know about the SEm process that our colleagues in Amersfoort have developed and I was eager to learn more about it.

Through this exchange I learned that for information is the key for BIM!”

Highlight of my quest experience

I learned about how the information is processed and treated using our SEm tool. I also learned how the engineering and project managers can get better and quicker access to more reliable information than we currently have in place in many projects. I was amazed by our Dutch colleagues’ working methods and how they share the information they have.

Learnings and recommendations

Since I came back from my QUEST, my way of working has changed. Especially the way we communicate and treat the information from and to our clients. Open your mind, ask as many things as you can think of and do not be afraid to talk to anyone.
