BLOG – Mallikarjun learned to transform client needs into actual plans in the UK

29 december 2017

Quest is an international transfer program which connects Arcadians from all over the world. Quest is sponsored by the Lovinklaan Foundation. Every week we are highlighting one of the stories our employees who went on an exchange. In this blogpost we cover the Quest story of Mallikarjun Narsingoji who traveled from Hyderabad, India to York, United Kingdom.

Why did I apply for a Quest

Going on a Quest seemed to be a great opportunity for me to gain first hand experience of UK railways and meet the UK teams, both within Arcadis and the client organisations of Network Rail and Transport for London.

“You can only gain knowledge by sharing it!”

Highlight of my quest experience

Attending client meetings was one of my best experiences during the Quest. I finally understood how client requirements are being converted into a briefing sheet. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my Host Manager Paul Mountford again for giving me the opportunity to be present during the meeting.

My Quest in a few words

“The Quest experience was better than ever”

Learnings and experiences

Meeting the colleagues I work with face to face was very helpful, because we could share knowledge on new standards/tips and tricks and where we can apply them to improve design skills. I would recommend everybody to go in the Quest experience with an adventurous spirit and a warm heart. Doing so will ensure you of an unforgettable experience. Also, be prepared for training sessions.
