The Quest experience from Vishnu J.

Quest is an international transfer program which connects Arcadians from all over the world. Quest is sponsored by the Lovinklaan Foundation. Every week we are highlighting one of the stories of one of our employees who went on an exchange. In this blogpost we are highlighting the experience of Vishnu  J., Design Engineer Highways in India.  For his Quest experience he travelled all the way to Atlanta, USA.

“I believe Quest is an important milestone in my career and a great step towards learning new technologies.”

Why did I apply for Quest

Arcadis - Loovinklaan Foundation Quest VishnuI applied to go on a Quest experience to better understand the various tasks that are carried out by the host office team in their projects. By selecting the country I decided to focus on areas where I can develop my skills and learn new, smarter approaches to the existing set of tasks carried out at GEC.

The Highlight of my Quest experience

I had the opportunity to interact with several colleagues and was also introduced to the world of BIM (Building Information Modelling) for highways. I believe it is an important milestone in my career and a great step towards learning new technologies.

My Quest in one word

It was a scintillating experience!

My learnings and recommendations

The need to think more out of box and understand that ‘innovation’ can scale from a small step into a big processes. Those are some primary ideas which I will include in my way of working from now onwards. Furthermore, one should be open-minded and should be ready to learn new things. In return you can make a positive contribution to your team.
